The Final Solution

""Final Solution": Overview." UNITED STATES HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL               MUSEUM. N.p., n.d. Web. 20 Mar. 2013.

Summary
This article talks about the Nazis plan to get rid of the Jews. This plan was called the Final Solution. It also gives information about the ways they killed the Jews.
Main Evidence
The “Final Solution” was the term that Nazis used when talking about the full annihilation of the Jews.
After the June 1941 German invasion of the Soviet Union, SS and police units (acting as mobile killing units) began massive killing operations aimed at entire Jewish communities. By autumn 1941, the SS and police introduced mobile gas vans. These paneled trucks had exhaust pipes reconfigured to pump poisonous carbon monoxide gas into sealed spaces, killing those locked within. They were designed to complement ongoing shooting operations.

Fallacy
None

Response
Reading about how Hitler and the Nazis killed the Jews and how many he killed at once and altogether makes me sick to think about.

Source Quality
This was a good source to use because it gave good information about the Final Solution and what they did to kill Jews in a mass group. I would suggest this source to other people because it was helpful.

Summary
This article has some good information about how Hitler got followers. It talks about how he was different from other leaders and that he used different methods of gaining followers than those other leaders.

Main Evidence
Hitler's power was based on the unconditional allegiance of the population. The Germans put their trust in Hitler. And that is how he was able to make his worldview, his politics, his hate, his war, and his crimes those of an entire nation.

Hitler gained German's trust when times were tough and they feared the future. They had trusted Hitler because he gave them hope and a sense of stability and they thought that if they stopped doing as he said it would end badly for them.

Fallacy
None

Response
Though he was only doing it to eventually do a lot of evil, it was a smart way to gain a lot of staunch followers.

Source
It was a good source because it told about how he gained followers. I would suggest it to other people because it helped me and was easy to follow.

Summary
This website talks about numerous different things that could have caused the hatred Hitler felt towards Jews. It consists mostly of quotes from a book that Ralf-George Reuth wrote.

Main evidence
Adolf Hitler's obsessive hatred for Jews was sparked by his experiences after World War One.
'With World War One lost and Germany in financial ruin, with revolution threatening, he came to see the Jews as solely responsible for stock-exchange capitalism, which caused acute poverty and suffering when it faltered, and Bolshevism,' said Reuth.
Fallacy
None

Response
Hitler's hatred towards Jews most likely started around World War 1. He blamed them for everything bad that happened. This didn't make sense because he really didn't have proof that they caused any of the things they were blamed for

Source Quality
This source was decent. It didn't tell much about his hatred towards them or really how it started. It really only gave a few possible reasons of what started his rancor towards Jews. I would not recommend this site because it doesn't give much information.

Abusive father

Summary
This source had useful information on my topic and it was very clear cut and well organized. It talked about Hitler’s younger years, about his parents, and schooling. He dropped out of school at a young age because he was lazy and lacked determination.

Main Evidence
It has been reported that his father had abused him when he was growing up. He was also picked on at school. He was lazy and not ambitious whatsoever. His father did not accept this so he dealt with it the way he thought was right.

It is known that he frequently hit the young Hitler.
Hitler was not popular at school and he made few friends. He was lazy and he rarely excelled at school work.

Response
This information could very well explain why Hitler was the way he was. Being abused and bullied can have a life-long effect on someone.

Source Quality
This source was an okay source. It didn't have much information about Hitler being abused but it did give some insight as to how his childhood was growing up. I don't think I would suggest this site to someone if they were looking for the same answers I was. Not enough information on this topic.
